Ashampoo Office 2010 is a productivity suite that offers a word processor, a program for editing spreadsheets, and a program for creating and running presentations. These basic applications are compatible with Microsoft Office 2007 and OpenOffice, which means that they will be able to read, and also edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. This proves especially convenient for work colleagues, who will be able to exchange documents, regardless of the program through which they carried it out.
The word processor, TextMaker, allows you to create documents containing text, tables and images, while performing the editing and formatting actions common to utilities of its kind. It provides a very appreciable advantage, in that it allows you to export a file as PDF (either with, or without password protection), so that you do not need a separate conversion program. By using it, you are also able to simultaneously open multiple documents within the same interface (in different tabs), to insert links and bookmarks, as well as create templates for pages (master page). A downside of this utility, however, is the fact that, unlike most of its competitors, it does not include a convenient spellchecker.
In Ashampoo PlanMaker, the spreadsheet program, you are able to make calculations and recalculations using the inserted data, create charts and drawings, filter data, and even add protection to the output files. Just like the other utilities in the package, this program, too, will be able to keep multiple files open at once in separate tabs, as well as export documents directly as PDF files.
The presentation utility, Ashampoo Presentations, allows you to choose from preset layouts or load one from an already-existing file, create templates for you slides (slide master - add date, page number, footer), insert a summary slide or use the slide sorter for rearranging your slides. Furthermore, this tool enables you to animate slide transitions, add 3D effects to still images and text, as well as set animation schemes.
